Welcome to The Wide Mouthed Frog Rooms, Grill and Whisky Bar

The Wide Mouthed Frog Rooms, Grill and Whisky Bar nestled at Dunstaffnage Marina in Oban offers a distinctive stay with genuine charm. Rated 4.1, this spot combines the warmth of a welcoming local inn with the refined touch of a quality grill and whisky bar. Visitors find themselves drawn not only to the scenic marina views but also to the inviting atmosphere that makes every guest feel at home.

Its rooms are spacious and pristinely maintained, promising comfort after a day exploring nearby attractions like St Columba's Cathedral and the Falls of Lora. Though some have noted the absence of Wi-Fi despite its advertised presence, the tranquil surroundings and attentive staff help balance this minor shortfall.

The restaurant shines as a key highlight. The menu is thoughtfully crafted with local flavors, featuring hearty dishes such as Steak and Ale pie and fresh, warming soups like minestrone. Desserts, like the white chocolate and strawberry slice, provide a delightful end to a satisfying meal. The pricing remains fair, making it accessible for both quick lunches and leisurely dinners by the marina.

For whisky enthusiasts, the bar's curated selection is an invitation to sample rich Scotch varieties amidst relaxed, smoke-free surroundings. The air-conditioned space accommodates both families and pets, enhancing its appeal as a versatile destination.

Overall, The Wide Mouthed Frog offers a balanced blend of location, comfort, and culinary appeal. It stands out as a welcoming retreat for travelers seeking an authentic taste of Oban’s coastal hospitality, perfectly suited for both short visits and extended stays.

We were waiting to board our yacht for a tour and saw this restaurant and tried lunch. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The lunch menu was excellent and reasonably priced. We enjoyed the Steak and Ale pie and the minestrone soup as well as one of their white chocolate and strawberry slice. Just lovely in a relaxing position by the Marina. It's a quick bus ride if you aren't driving, but there is plenty of parking. We did not stay here but they do also have rooms.

Room was nice and roomy and very clean. But....advertised on airbnb as having WiFi. No WiFi which is not great when they also have a smart TV????? Duh. Also shower was very slow to drain. Had to turn off mid shower to let water go. Restaurant was nice with good food and the staff were lovely.
